Forsan Students Learn Lifesaving CPR Skills

More than 90 students at Forsan ISD recently received hands-on CPR and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) training through Martin County Hospital District’s Community Outreach Program. In partnership with the American Heart Association’s CPR in Schools initiative, the program equips students with the knowledge and confidence to respond when every second matters.

By bringing lifesaving education directly into local schools, MCHD continues its commitment to improving the health and safety of the communities it serves.

Preparing the Next Generation of Lifesavers

Texas requires high school students to receive hands-on CPR instruction before graduation, helping ensure young adults are prepared to respond during medical emergencies. Through its partnership with the American Heart Association, Martin County Hospital District helps make that requirement meaningful by providing engaging, hands-on instruction led by experienced healthcare professionals.

During the visit to Forsan ISD, more than 90 seventh-grade students and high school seniors practiced proper chest compressions, learned when and how to perform CPR, and gained experience using Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs).
