Martin County Hospital District is proud to recognize Angie Barnett, EVS Supervisor, as the July Employee of the Month for her leadership, flexibility, and willingness to step up wherever her team needs her.
Martin County Hospital District recognizes Angie Barnett, EVS Supervisor, as the July Employee of the Month.
Stepping Up When It Matters
Over the past several months, MCHD’s Environmental Services team has navigated significant growth. Increased volumes and the addition of another building brought a larger workload and required the department to continually adapt.
When her team needed additional support, Angie didn’t hesitate. She changed her schedule from days to evenings to help meet the department’s needs and ensure MCHD’s patients, employees, and facilities continued receiving the level of service they depend on.
Willing to Help Wherever Needed
During the transition, Angie took on responsibilities throughout Environmental Services.
She worked as a terminal OR cleaner, evening discharge cleaner, and office cleaner, while continuing to take on other responsibilities necessary to keep the department operating effectively.
And she did it with the attitude her coworkers have come to expect from her: positive, dependable, and willing to help wherever needed.
Taking Ownership
During her time as an EVS supervisor, Angie has consistently demonstrated a desire to learn, grow, and improve.
She looks for opportunities to make the department more efficient while keeping the needs of patients and employees at the center of the work.
Her nomination particularly recognized something that distinguishes her approach to leadership: Angie doesn’t simply view her responsibilities as a job. She takes ownership, follows through, and takes pride in the work she does.
Leadership Behind the Scenes
Environmental Services is an essential part of patient care. The work may often happen behind the scenes, but maintaining clean, safe, and ready spaces throughout the hospital directly supports patients, clinical teams, and every department across MCHD.
Angie’s work ethic, dependability, willingness to sacrifice, and commitment to her team have helped EVS continue meeting those responsibilities during a period of significant growth.
Your willingness to step up when your department needed you most does not go unnoticed.
