Supporting Students, Teachers and Schools

Strong communities are built through partnerships, and MCHD’s relationship with Stanton ISD extends far beyond the walls of the hospital.

Through school-based healthcare, immunization services, support for educators, and opportunities for students to experience healthcare careers firsthand, MCHD works alongside the district to help meet the needs of students and staff.

That commitment was recognized by Stanton ISD with its Big Red Heart Award, accompanied by a handwritten message thanking MCHD for its continued support.

Healthcare Where Students Need It

One of the most important parts of the partnership is helping connect students with healthcare in the school environment.

Through the Buff Clinic and immunization clinics, MCHD and Stanton ISD work together to make essential health services more accessible to students and families.

These programs help address healthcare needs while reducing some of the barriers that can make receiving care more difficult for busy families.

Partnership in Action

  • BUFF CLINIC
Connecting Stanton ISD students with convenient access to healthcare services.
  • IMMUNIZATION CLINICS
Helping students receive required and recommended immunizations.
  • TELEDOC SUPPORT
Providing additional healthcare support for Stanton ISD teachers while helping reduce time away from school.
  • STUDENT INTERNSHIPS
Giving high school seniors opportunities to experience healthcare careers and learn from MCHD professionals.

Supporting the People Behind the Classroom

The partnership also extends to the teachers and staff who serve Stanton students every day.

In the note presented with the award, Stanton ISD specifically recognized MCHD’s TeleDoc support for teachers, sharing that the service has helped save valuable time.

By finding practical ways to make healthcare easier to access, the partnership supports not only individual employees but the school community they serve.

Creating Opportunities for the Next Generation

Healthcare partnerships can also introduce students to possibilities for their own futures.

Internship opportunities with MCHD give Stanton ISD seniors a chance to gain firsthand exposure to healthcare careers, workplaces, and professionals within their own community.

For a rural community, those opportunities carry an added significance. They allow young people to see the range of careers available in healthcare and the role those professions play in serving their neighbors.

A Big Red Heart for MCHD

The award was accompanied by a handwritten message thanking MCHD for its support of Stanton ISD students and staff and recognizing the impact of the partnership.

The message highlighted the Buff Clinic, immunization clinics, TeleDoc support for teachers, and internship opportunities for seniors.

For MCHD, the Big Red Heart Award represents something larger than recognition. It reflects what can happen when local healthcare and education work together toward the same goal: building a healthier, stronger community.

Martin County Hospital District is grateful to Stanton ISD for the recognition and proud to continue serving its students, educators, staff, and families.
